Faris F. Chesley
Mr. Chesley has been an active participant in Chicago’s investment community for more than forty years. Prior to starting Chesley Taft, he served as Vice Chairman of ABN AMRO North America Incorporated, successor to The Chicago Corporation which he joined in 1988. He was Chairman of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and a member of its Risk Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Advisory Committee. He previously was Executive Vice President and a Director of Prescott, Ball & Turben, Inc. From 1970 to 1974, he was President of Chesley & Company and from 1974 to 1984, Burton J. Vincent, Chesley & Co. He began his career with Hornblower & Weeks before leaving to found his own company.

William A. Goldstein
Mr. Goldstein has over forty years of investment experience. Prior to joining Chesley, Taft & Associates, he was Managing Director of Lodestar Investment Counsel, LLC, which he founded in 1989. Prior to founding Lodestar, Mr. Goldstein was a member of the management committee of Prescott, Ball & Turben, Inc. and the Chairman of Prescott Asset Management, a wholly-owned investment adviser subsidiary.

David W. Bender
Mr. Bender has over 25 years experience providing investment management services for both private individuals and institutional clients. His background is in asset allocation, portfolio management, retirement accounts and financial planning. Prior to joining Chesley, Taft, he was a Managing Director at Dearborn Partners in Chicago. Previously he served as Vice President in the Private Client Group at J. P. Morgan and in the Institutional Investment Management Group at American National Bank.

Joan M. Giardina, CFA
Ms. Giardina joined Chesley, Taft & Associates as a Principal in 2002. She has over thirty-five years of experience in the trust and investment management business managing balanced portfolios for private clients, trusts and charitable organizations, and employee benefit plans.
Her prior experience includes American National Bank and the Chicago Trust Company where as a Senior Vice President she headed the High Net Worth Portfolio Management Unit for ten years. She brings a wealth of experience in trust and estate planning matters.
Ms. Giardina is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago. She serves on the Board of the Investment Adviser Association and on the Catholic Charities of Chicago Board of Advisors. Previously Ms. Giardina served on the Board of the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Gregory J. O’Leary
Mr. O’Leary has been with Chesley, Taft & Associates since its inception. He was previously with ABN AMRO, Incorporated. For more than eleven years prior, he worked at JP Morgan (formerly The First National Bank of Chicago) as a Portfolio Manager in the Personal Trust and Investments Department and at First Chicago Capital Markets in fixed income sales and underwriting.
Mr. O’Leary is presently on the Board of Directors of Cedille Records as Treasurer and the Civic Federation as chairman of the Investment Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. He is the former President of the Chicago Opera Theater.

Mr. Sobel has over thirty years of experience in the investment industry. Mr. Sobel currently serves as President of the Winnetka Fire Department Pension Board. Previously he has served on various committees of the Winnetka Village Caucus, including acting as Chair of the Library Committee. He was very active in the Seattle area where he previously resided, serving on various committees for the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, and as President of Friends and Families of Violent Crime Victims.

Michael P. Stoffregen, CFA
Mr. Stoffregen joined Chesley, Taft and Associates as a Principal in 2006. He has over thirty years of investment management experience as a Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining the firm he spent twenty-six years at JP Morgan via his earlier affiliation with the legacy First National Bank of Chicago. In his early career Mr. Stoffregen was a member of the Common Stock Committee of First Chicago Investment Advisors™, which later became Brinson Partners.

Brian Zavalkoff, CFA
Mr. Zavalkoff joined Chesley, Taft & Associates as a Principal in 2009. He has over twenty years of investment management experience. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zavalkoff was a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at the U.S. Trust Company (a division of Bank of America) and its predecessor firms, LaSalle Wealth Management and the Chicago Trust Company.
In addition, Mr. Zavalkoff was employed as Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Citibank Global Asset Management / Citigroup Asset Management in New York. At Citibank, Mr. Zavalkoff co-managed a $1.25 billion U.S. All-Cap Equity Fund. Also, he authored the Company’s quarterly Global Investment Perspective, a strategy report discussing prospects for each of the major global economies and financial markets. Finally, Mr. Zavalkoff was also a member of the Company’s Asset Management Committee.
Mr. Zavalkoff is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
